What to Look for
When trying to find a new credit card, there are several things you should consider. What do you need the credit card for? What rewards would be best for you? What interest rate is best for you? Many credit cards offer 0% interest for the first year, but then the interest rate sky rockets after the year is up. Other will offer 0 interest for life BUT if you miss just one payment, kiss that interest rate goodbye.
What to Watch out for
As mentioned above, many credit cards have sneaky ways of getting your money. Unfortunately, it is best to read all the fine print before you choose. Now, I know that is not what most people want to hear, but it is very important to do. Be sure to read carefully the following sections of credit cards terms and conditions:
- Interest Rate Term Period
- Late Payment Penalties
These sections will tell you what your interest rate will be after you miss a payment, or the initial term period is over. 0 interest credit cards are often to good to be true. However they are out there. It is important to do your research and find the card that will work best for you.
